This section of the Crossroads Initiative Library is dedicated to the Trinity - The Father, Son and Holy Spirit. So, how can God be one and three at the same time. Such a notion is at worst illogical, at best meaningless. “This was all invented by the Roman Emperor Constantine in 313 AD,” scoff a motley crew ranging from the Jehovah’s Witnesses to the DaVinci Code.
Of course this charge has no historical leg to stand on. St. Ignatius of Antioch wrote seven brief letters around 110AD in which he called Jesus “God” 16 times.
Feel free to share these articles with others that have questions about the mystery of the Trinity. Many are available for download and printing, so feel free to pass them around!
I Believe - The Heart of Catholic Faith
by: Marcellino D'Ambrosio, Ph.D.
In this dynamic, four-part series, Dr. D'Ambrosio explains how the very heart of the Christian faith is all about intimate, personal relationships. Who God is -- a community of love between three divine persons, and the powerful, loving way that each of those Divine Persons breaks into our world to change and transform our lives. This series explains how faith is not irrational but the most reasonable response possible to God's saving deeds in history and the mystery of the Trinity.
This series follows the outline of the Nicene Creed, but don't be mistaken--far from a stodgy or academic presentation of tenets and beliefs, this series, full of
enlightening metaphors and colorful anecdotes, leads all who listen to it not only to clearer understanding of their faith, but a deeper love relationship with God the Father, Son, and Spirit. "I Believe," available in either audio or video format, is perfect either for individual study, or use by RCIA or study groups, by teens or adults.
