San Bernardino of Siena
Saint Bernardino or Bernadine (after whom the valley in CA is named) was a Franciscan Friar who died in 1444. During his lifetime, he was perhaps the most powerful preacher not only in Italy but in all of Christendom. He is best known for spreading devotion to the Holy Name of Jesus.
